Bethan and Buck's Sloe Gin

The best time to pick the sloes is during October and November, ideally after the first frost of the year.

If you want a bottle of sloe gin then this is what you need to do:

  1. Pick 4 -6 oz of sloe berries.

  2. Wash the berries after picking them.

  3. Pierce each berry to make sure that the gin soaks into them. This will produce the best flavour! You can use a pin, or use a fork, it's much safer!

  4. Pour the gin out of the bottle and into a jug then put the berries into the bottle.

  5. Use a funnel to pour 4 oz of sugar into the bottle.

  6. Back in with the gin!

  7. Shake the bottle now and again over the next two months in order to mix everything together well..then taste! Cheers!

This is the colour you should have after two months.

    Www, steady on now…!
