Carrots longer than your arms!

Want to grow carrots as long as your arm - or even longer?!

1 The carrots are going to grow longer than the bin so cut the bottom off.

2 Make a hole in the garden about 3 foot deep. You can make it deeper if you want, it depends how long you want your carrots to be.

3 Fill the hole and the bin with sand.

4 Using a long pole, make holes for the carrots

5 Fill these holes with compost…but…

6 …sieve the compost first - if the carrots touch a lump they will not grow straight and all your hard work will go to waste!

7 Put two seeds in each hole. After awhile, take out the weakest seed so that the strongest has the best chance of growing.
